Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the tallest building in the world (as of 2021) with a height of 828 meters above the ground. The building comes with restaurants, observation desks, mosques, hotel rooms, apartments, pools, shops, spas, saunas and so on.

6. Named as ‘Burj Dubai’ in past
The building was completed in 2009. Till this year, it was known as ‘Burj Dubai’. In 2010, the building was relaunched as ‘Burj Khalifa’ as it was purchased by Abu Dhabi govenment and named after Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed-Al Nahayan.
5. Seen even from 95 kilometers (without using binocular).
The skyscraper is so tall that it can be seen from 95 kilometers of the radius from the building without using binocular!
4. Inspired from a flower (Hymenocallis)
The building is inspired from a flower called Hymenocallis. Inside the building, we can spot Hymenocallis flowers in many places.
3. The land for military compound in past
The land on which the building is erected was used as a military compound before 2000 named as “Central Military Command’ where Emirati Military and others used to come. In 2003-2004, the construction of building was started.
2. Two sunsets and the affect on fasting in Ramadan
The building is so tall, that one can actually see the same sunset twice by switching the floors. Also, the people in the building fasting in Ramadan usually fast longer than others due to difference in timing of rising/sitting sun and moon.
