How to reach Bhutan from Delhi economically?

Bhutan, a Buddhist country located in South Asia sharing borders with India and China is popular for its culture, fortresses, mountain ranges, temples and historical remains. 
It is a quite good place to visit and a cheap place for Indians and Chinese to have an international trip. A lot of people prefer going there. It is an unique place too!
Note: Nu stands for Bhutanese Ngultrum (Bhutanese currency) and ₹ stands for Indian rupee (Indian currency). ₹1=1 Nu. The value of the currencies are same and usually, both currencies are accepted in Bhutan.

Here is the cheapest and convenient way to visit Phuentsholing, Paro and Thimphu on a single trip from Delhi:







1. Delhi to Hasimara, WB – by train (from ₹620)

We can board a train from Delhi to Hasimara, West Bengal. It takes around 36 hours to reach there. The fare starts from ₹620 to ₹2,455 per adult. We can book our train as per our requirements.

2. Hasimara to Jaigaon – by auto rickshaw (from ₹30)

As we reach Hasimara, we can find auto-rickshaws and taxis (shared and private) to Jaigaon (in Bhutan). Auto-rickshaw is the cheapest and quite convenient. After usual bargaining, it can cost us ₹30/head.

3. Jaigaon to Phuentsholing – by walk (from ₹0 or 0 Nu)

As we reach the small Bhutanese town, Jaigaon, we can walk to another town Phuentsholing as it is not so far, or for more convenience, you can also board an auto rickshaw.

4. Phuentsholing to Thimphu- by bus (from ₹217 or 217 Nu)

From Phuentsholing, we can reach Thimphu, a city of Bhutan via bus. The bus is quite convenient. It can cost us ₹217 or 217 Nu and takes around 5 hours to reach there.

5. Thimphu to Paro – by bus (from ₹50 or 50 Nu)

From Thimphu, we can reach Paro, the capital of Bhutan via bus. The bus is quite convenient. It can cost us ₹50 or 50 Nu and takes around 1.5 hours to reach there.

6. Paro to Phuentsholing – bus (from ₹200 or 200 Nu)

From Paro, we go back to Phuentsholing via bus. The bus is convenient. It can cost us around ₹200 or 200 Nu and takes around 5 hours to get there.

7. Phuentsholing to Hasimara – auto rickshaw (from ₹30 or 30 Nu)

As we arrive at Phuentsholing, we can get an auto rickshaw for ₹30/head or 30 Nu/head to get there.

8. Hasimara to Delhi – by train (from ₹620)

We can board a train from Hasimara to Delhi, West Bengal. It takes around 36 hours to reach there. The fare starts from ₹620 to ₹2,455 per adult. We can book our train as per our requirements.

If we calculate, it will cost us ₹1,767 to travel Bhutan. This estimated cost includes all of the travel expenses (excluding accommodation, money exchange cost, food, shopping and additional adventure expenses).
