We know that there are many different currencies with the name ‘Dollar’, but all of us don’t know that their are countries with currency named ‘Rupee’.
First of all we should know what does ‘Rupee’ mean and where did this word come from?
Ancient India was one of the earliest issuer of currency coins in the world. The word, ‘Rupee’ is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Rūpya’ which means ‘wrought silver, a coin of silver’.

- Mauritius
Mauritius is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean. It is known for the beaches, lagoons and reefs. The currency here is, ‘Mauritian Rupee (MUR)’.

Seychelles is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean. The currency followed here is ‘Seychellois Rupee (SCR)’. It has the highest value among all Rupee named currencies.

Trucial States was the name given to UAE under British Rule. The Indian Rupee was used in this territory.
