More than 96% of the population are considered to be Muslims which makes the majority of the people. It is said that, it is not easy for people of other religion like Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism etc. to have a happier life there always. Many of the Pakistanis raised their voices against the violence and discrimination faced by them as minorities. We find the country to be working upon these issues. In support of this, Pakistan unveils their first ever Sikh person to join the Pakistani army. Harcharan Singh is a part of Pakistani Army officially but he is also used as political agenda and to show secularism. This can be proved as the minorities serving the Pakistani government, especially in the armed forces, are so less that they can be counted on fingers. Harcharan Singh is one of them. Having made his way up to the Major rank, Hercharn Singh was commissioned in 2007, having trained for 2 years from 2005 to 2007 at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Abbottabad in the Pakistan Army’s 116th Long Course.
Members of ’51st Sikh’ from 1905.

Looking at the past, we find that ’51st Sikh’ was an infantry regiment which constituted of Sikhs. It was allocated to Pakistani army after the Indian-Pakistan partition in 1947. Presently, it is named as ‘Frontier Force Regiment’. After the allocation to Pakistan, Sikhs in this regiment kept on vanishing and now there are none or one.
